Engagement models

How pricing and engagement actually work.

Most consulting firms hide their engagement structure behind "contact us for a custom quote." We'd rather be transparent. Here are the two engagement models, what each includes, and what to expect in terms of pricing structure, timeline, and commitment level.

Two models

Choose the model that fits — or combine both as the engagement evolves

For enterprises

Consulting engagement (SOW-based)

For defined projects with clear objectives: data platform modernization, AI implementation, cloud migration, enterprise application strategy. You get a team assembled for your specific challenge, with architecture leadership, delivery accountability, and milestone-based progress.

Pricing structure
Fixed-price or time-and-materials SOW with defined milestones and deliverables. Rates depend on team composition and engagement duration.
Typical engagement
3-12 months. Most start with a 6-8 week discovery and architecture phase, then scale the team for implementation.
Minimum commitment
No minimum. We scope to your needs. Many engagements start as a 4-week assessment and expand based on findings.
What's included
Architecture leadership, specialist delivery team, delivery manager oversight, weekly status reporting, milestone tracking, and knowledge transfer.
How it starts
A 20-minute conversation about your challenge. If there's a fit, we scope a discovery phase. No commitment until you sign the SOW.

For IT services companies

Specialist talent placement (T&M)

For client delivery projects where you need specific specialists: Fabric architects, LLM engineers, Power BI developers, Salesforce consultants. You get pre-qualified profiles in 4.3 days, deploy on your timeline, and scale as the project evolves.

Pricing structure
Monthly rate per specialist. Competitive with direct hiring from India, Poland, and Eastern Europe — without the recruitment overhead, bench cost, or quality risk.
Typical placement
3-18 months per specialist. Many partners start with one placement and expand to 5-10 across multiple client projects within 6 months.
Minimum commitment
No minimum term. Month-to-month after the first month. 2-week notice for scale-down. We earn continued business through delivery quality, not contractual lock-in.
What's included
4-stage consulting-led matching, delivery manager oversight, performance monitoring, replacement guarantee (if the specialist doesn't work out, we replace within days — not weeks).
How it starts
One email or call with the requirement. Curated profiles in 4.3 days average. You interview and decide. Zero commitment until you deploy.

Common questions about engagement

What we hear most often before the first engagement

What if we need both?

Many clients start with one model and add the other. An enterprise starts with a data platform consulting engagement, then places additional specialists via T&M as the project scales. An IT services company starts with talent placements, then engages Xylity for a consulting project with their own end client. Both models coexist.

What about IP and confidentiality?

All engagements include NDA and IP assignment provisions. For consulting engagements, all deliverables and IP belong to you. For talent placements, specialists work under your direction — Xylity has no claim on the work product. Standard MSA covers both models.

How do you handle replacement?

If a specialist isn't meeting expectations, we don't argue — we replace. From the same pre-qualified network, using the same 4-stage evaluation, typically within 3-5 days. The delivery manager monitors proactively so replacements are rare (92% first-match acceptance), but the safety net is always there.

No commitment until you're convinced.
Start with a conversation.

20 minutes. No pitch deck. Just a candid discussion about your challenge and which engagement model makes sense. If there's no fit, we'll tell you — and recommend who might be better.
